Pros

The developers that I work with in engineering are great (it's the industrial automation team that I'm on). The work itself is quite interesting and I like the projects I get to work on. The part of Molex that I'm with has been around a really long time, so they have solid processes (which are maybe sometimes too big though, depending on what we're working on). The workplace benefits and perks are excellent, with generous pension and health coverage, and free snacks and drinks and frequent free lunches. Bonuses seem like they may be a little low (but Molex/Koch has a different way of dealing with bonuses).

Cons

The senior management and culture/balance is very poor here, and many on the team had to work a large number of extra hours for months because of poor planning and unrealistic schedules and expectations (and no bonus to make up for it!!). I don't know if the expectations are being set by the managers or the business people or they're just agreeing to what the customer says, but it's usually not realistic. The person running things in engineering always seems angry and stressed out and never seems happy with anything or anyone and always wants stuff done his way (as if he's always right and knows better than everyone else). To be honest, they are the worst manager that I've ever had to work for, and I think other people agree too. The engineering team manager left suddenly at the beginning of the year (I heard he wasn't happy with management either) and that's caused some problems too, as he was the one that was pleasant and easy to deal with. So the culture really isn't very good right now. There are some career growth opportunities here though, as they are growing the team quite a bit, but it's still a smallish group compared to a building with 100's of employees so it's kind of limited.

Pros

Decent pay if you get in the right role, challenging problems, good people to work with. It's really at the forefront of the high speed cable/connector industry.

Cons

Lots of politics. I've witnessed a fair amount of sexism (no pay raises for women doing the same or better work as men). Upper management changes every 9-18 months. Company culture is fractured and confused. Not a lot of extra morale boosting activities outside of work anymore.
