Pros
Able to hire family and friends. Nice facility in downtown Long Beach and promote wellness programs (i.e., free gym, group exercise, rent a bike, etc.)
Cons
Too many incompetent friends and family of the Molina's are hired. If you're one of them, you are safe, if not one of them, beware! You need to be an unquestioning follower in order to survive. Independent thinking is not looked upon favorably Many times, it's a "do as I say, not as I do" environment. Those who make the rules don't have to follow them, but everybody else does. Although it's a fortune 300 company, it's run very much as a "Mom & Pop" shop. The Molina's reach down into the organization to get involved in things that are way beneath what they should be concerned about, only for the reason to protect their friends. The board of directors probably don't know what's really going on. Human Resources department is a joke, several decent HR professionals including VP's were summarily dismissed and replaced with "yes men". Why you ask? They dared to do their job, and say "no, we can't do this to people". In return, they were let go....sad.... The IT Department was told to stop innovating and just keep the lights on. Big IT shop and a lot of outside consultants for the size of the company.
