Pros

Most of the employees are great to work with Decent Benefits and Pay

Cons

-A lot of employees are there for a paycheck and don't do their job and continue to live off GE's dole. -No forward thinking and our market shares are showing it. -Road block innovation by having their scientist/engineers do all the commercial and marketing data BEFORE they can work on their ideas. -little to no promotion -lack of a willingness to change from "The good 'ole days" of being GE -Vacation is non-existent unless you've been there for over 10 years (2 weeks for 5 years, 3 weeks till 10 years, and then 4 weeks max) -profit sharing is laughable due to lack of direction from upper management and ridiculous goals that are un-achievable. -Commercial team is lazy and wont do their job of finding new and potential markets and gets upset when innovative ideas are brought up. -Facilities are ancient and roofs are leaking everywhere -preventative maintenance is a bad word in Manufacturing. Instead, they cut corners to save a dime, but in the end it cost them customers, and several million dollars in products -EHS in manufacturing is lazy and doesn't know much about regulations except what has been put in front of them and expects the R&D group to make the changes needed instead of manufacturing doing it.

Pros

The company offers a lot of amazing products that have been around for decades and are still unmatched by the competition. The company recently has been consolidating the number of offices to reduce the overhead as well as help with internal communication between departments. During this process they have also been able to create new positions as they work to expand and grow the business. I have watched as two associates have been promoted to Inside Sales from Customer Service. The benefits are good and we have received a yearly merit increase. The managers are all very friendly with an open door policy and really care about the employees.

Cons

Customer Service is a very stressful job and it has been stretched very thin from promotions and promotions leaving the rest of the team to cover while new applicants are interviewed and the spots are filled; this process takes entirely too long. The company is very Six Sigma focused which can make the process very rigid and not very flexible when it comes to helping those that pay us, the customer.

Pros

A lot of the teams and employees are great to work with, get on their good side and they will do anything for you. Not super professional environment so make sure you have a good sense of humor. Tons to learn and lots of opportunities to make improvements. Opportunities for advancement, but the process takes longer than it used to.

Cons

Bad labor relations, constant threats of strikes, etc. Low pay, long hours. Company not willing to spend money on projects or on its employees. Apollo management bled them dry, hopefully they get bought out by someone who wants to run a chemical company, not an investment portfolio.
