Pros

Company has good pedigree coming out of GE. But since it was spun-out of GE, it has lost its cache even being in Chapter 11 in 2015. It has since emerged from Chapter 11 and things seem to improve slightly.

Cons

Company senior leadership is weak and is not able to steer the company out of the troubles it has. Nov 2016 one of their key plants went on strike. Not sure this company will make it in the long term. Working under severe expense control and uncertainty in its sustainability is not fun.

RUN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION

Pros

Products are great, there are some great ideas from those who still care, and there are some wonderful employees. There is promise, BUT, unfortunately... (see cons)

Cons

The good employees are vastly outnumbered by bad ones who are just there for a paycheck, know nothing about how to properly run a business, know nothing about encouraging peers who have a passion for Momentive's success, and move slower than seems humanly possible. Also, there is a lot of favoritism (some workers leave early EVERY day and take every Friday off) and there are a lot of contractors who are treated like sub-humans.

Pros

Most of the employees are great to work with Decent Benefits and Pay

Cons

-A lot of employees are there for a paycheck and don't do their job and continue to live off GE's dole. -No forward thinking and our market shares are showing it. -Road block innovation by having their scientist/engineers do all the commercial and marketing data BEFORE they can work on their ideas. -little to no promotion -lack of a willingness to change from "The good 'ole days" of being GE -Vacation is non-existent unless you've been there for over 10 years (2 weeks for 5 years, 3 weeks till 10 years, and then 4 weeks max) -profit sharing is laughable due to lack of direction from upper management and ridiculous goals that are un-achievable. -Commercial team is lazy and wont do their job of finding new and potential markets and gets upset when innovative ideas are brought up. -Facilities are ancient and roofs are leaking everywhere -preventative maintenance is a bad word in Manufacturing. Instead, they cut corners to save a dime, but in the end it cost them customers, and several million dollars in products -EHS in manufacturing is lazy and doesn't know much about regulations except what has been put in front of them and expects the R&D group to make the changes needed instead of manufacturing doing it.
