Pros

-Work from home was nice -My direct team and other "low level" employees were amazing and kept the day fun (Too bad they were all fired, so that's not really a pro anymore)

Cons

-C-Suite and leadership changes in quick succession were HUGE red flags -Multiple mass firings suddenly and without any empathy. -'Middle managers' were great but senior leadership shut them down at every turn. Your boss might be advocating for you but higher-ups wanted nothing to do with employee enrichment or growth. They'd tell you what you want to hear to milk more work from you but will just string you along until they fire you. -No intentions of keeping up with inflation or the economy. "Merit based" raises were insulting and a fraction of the inflation rate - if you even got one. -No upward mobility or advancement. Leadership has no interest in retention - INSANELY high turnover. Every week there were more posts about people leaving the company after becoming fed up. Most of the people who had in depth and senior levels of product knowledge are long gone - leaving new and undertrained employees holding the bag with no support -They keep buying more and more companies and neglect the ones they already have and those employees.

Pros

Everyone below the line (non-execs) are amazing people to work with. They are usually the ones left behind in the transition that stuck it out or didn’t get fired because of where they work. These are very hard working people that love what they do and who they work for (customers).

Cons

Community Brands has no vision. They purchase successful start ups, change how they do sales, product management, marketing, etc, and expect results first year. They don’t pay industry rates (well below competitive companies) and will only give you just enough to shut you up (if they value you), otherwise they give 1% raises that keep their staff in poverty. DEI is turned into a joke as the all white leadership team discusses “equality”. People are told to work on other CB products without formal training, and then are chastised or receive lower raises when they don’t perform. Sales is given 0 leads all year at the same time their performance indicators are continuously raised; and commission, all but nonexistent. High value leads are given to poorly educated junior sales who “can’t sell it”. Decisions are made without data or cross team education. Employees work 50-80 hours a week for months at a time and are scolded when they need to take paid time off. The work-life balance is non-existent.

The people who have joined us through M&A are doing a great job. Your products and brands are thriving and helping our customers every day. Your voices also matter and we want you to hear you. If the leaders you are working with directly aren’t listening, you know how to reach me. If you prefer to be anonymous and still want to express your opinion on strategy or direction, please reach out to our employee helpline. I have lots of conversations from all different parts of the organization and the insight you bring is amazing. SL - CEO

Pros

It was a great stepping stone career-wise. Great opportunity to establish relationships with clients in different industries.

Cons

I left this company after several years of seeing the same old story: "we're doing everything we can, we're working on it". I started with Abila, and Community Brands' acquisition was the starting point of the company's spiraling downfall. All I kept seeing were more and more acquisitions (some were very obviously multi-million dollar deals), meanwhile CB paint a picture that revenue is suffering throughout the pandemic although quarterly reviews show they're doing just fine. 401k benefits were obliterated. Backfilling of lost staff takes way too long. and my team fell apart after my leave; at least 4 other very valuable employees left shortly after I did. Pay needs needs to be bumped up across the scale from starting to senior level (excluding upper management) pay.

Hi, I am the CEO and yes, I read every Glassdoor review and initial the ones to which I personally respond. I do not ask anyone to leave reviews and have made it clear to this organization that we will never pressure people to do so. We go so far as to make sure senior leaders avoid even casually mentioning leaving a review because that could be perceived as pressure due to the power dynamic. If someone applies pressure, I want to know about it and we will counsel that behavior - that's how strongly we feel about doing this right. We're thrilled with our revenue growth and have been making investments throughout the company accordingly. This includes investments in our people, with a third of the company receiving promotions or off-cycle salary increases in recognition of their performance. We've also awarded substantial spot bonuses to a third of the company (with some overlap with the promotions, but not a lot). No question but staffing is challenging right now for all tech companies and we continue to expand our recruiting capacity. They've done a great job with the team mentioned - it's a strong team and I appreciate their work every day. I wish you'd hung around to see it. The 401K match was reinstated in January with both an improved match and lower fee investment options. Something to think about as you are looking at M and A - those are real people that come and work at this company. They contribute both to their prior business and become part of this team with all their talent and experience. They aren't distractions. This isn't fluff. SL, CEO
