Pros

My coworker and residents were amazing.

Cons

My assistant manager and property manager did not have proper training and relied too heavily on other people for every menial task. It was also a very negative environment, stemming from management, trickling down to every other single employee. I was also there for a year and did not receive even a dollar raise. The property was not taken care of. Every roof was leaking and nothing was done to fix this.

Thank you so much for providing us with this feedback. We have grown quickly and did not always have the training staff to support this in the past, but we have recently made several new hires to the training department and are working on providing better support in that area. We hope you are doing well in your current endeavor!

Pros

The insurance coverage is pretty good, although a little high if you have a family or kids on your policy. The company is good about abiding by fair housing law and the policies are pretty cut and dry which make them easier to enforce with tenants.

Cons

The salary for property managers is not up to industry standards considering the amount of work and stress placed on the site team. Upper management, including the owner, tend to play favorites when hiring new people. The best people aren't always picked for the job and I've seen people jump over others with no experience. Upper management likes to use negative reinforcement as a way to reach goals instead of motivating employees to succeed.

Pros

We are given the freedom to manage the property with our residents, employees and fiscal responsibilities all in mind. We have an amazing support staff in Denver who cuts out so much auditing for us. The new Employee Relations department is fantastic at keeping us motivated. Everyone I've met has been friendly and the perks are great. I've referred friends to openings with Monarch many times!

Cons

I wish we had an IT department closer to us in Michigan.
