Pros

Decent training program that combines their internal terminology with command of the message. Good technology that customers like.

Cons

They have confused the role of sales development with enterprise account executive. This leads to extreme micromanagement, combative QBRs, and very few folks running deal cycles.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We take the concerns of all employees seriously. We have a robust sales process which is based on years of research and data and has proven to deliver consistent success. Our SDR team is in place to support Enterprise Account Executives, so they can focus on running their businesses. However, Enterprise Account Executives are still responsible for generating new pipeline and working collaboratively across the ecosystem (SDRs, Marketing, etc.) to achieve this. Additionally, sales leaders and managers are heavily invested in all aspects of the sales cycle to provide our reps with the support they need to be successful and reps have the freedom to implement their unique ideas, skills, and experiences to their cycles and accounts. Pros

- Innovative Product: MongoDB is at the forefront of database technology. Must-have tech instead of nice to have. - Talented Team: You’ll collaborate with highly skilled and driven people. - Global Reach: Work with customers across different industries and geographies - Flexible working arrangement - Senior leaders are approachable

Cons

- Toxic Work Environment: high levels of stress, internal competition, and lack of support. - Unclear Expectations for Success: Expectations for success and performance are vague, which can make it challenging to meet or exceed them. A lot of pointing to development plans, but development plans are ever-changing and never finalized. - White Male-Dominated Sales Organization - Inconsistent Management: Really is a mixed bag. some managers are great, and others can't offer useful guidance or constructive feedback. - Lack of Clear Career Advancement: The pathway for career growth is unclear and inconsistent, with limited visibility into what is needed to level up. Managers have infamous quarterly talent calibration meetings where ICs are stack-ranked against each other. ICs know about these meetings but aren't able to understand where they fall in that rank or what goes into the ranking. - We have a clear CSM to CCO track, but instead of enabling and promoting from within, management continues to hire external ICs at higher levels. - Recognition Gaps. You won't get recognized for the work you do!!!!

Pros

Lots of nice people who take pride in teamwork and like to help others. Minimal political intrigue. Not a cutthroat environment. Main product is a database. Companies stick with the same tech stack for a long time (too long), MDB will be in business for a long time.

Cons

Too many executives in the biggest job they've ever had and are in way over their heads trying to run an enterprise company. Over-promoted middle managers who don't know what they don't know and allergic to change. Homegrown systems and processes haven't scaled and many groups are behind on industry practices. Collaborative culture has big benefits but at the big price of micromanagenent, too many cooks in the kitchen, and hazy accountability.
