      Connection and relevance are keys at Morgan Stanley

      Pros

      Compensation and what was once the best technology group on the street.

      Cons

      Lack of vision and strategy, especially for the IT department. Layoff of many, many good people and reduction of expenses has created a difficult environment and morale is suffering. Many good people have left due to the recent and current situation.

      Pros

      A genuine culture of intellectual challenge. Instinctive competitiveness and a respect for real business and deal making. Fundamental (and old school) business values, rooted in history. Clear and subtle brand. Strong range of people employed and the way people do business. Outstanding global footprint - one of the few genuinely international finance houses. Willingness to improve - and an absence of the arrogance that some banks have developed. Determination to get it right for the customer - even if that means passing up a quick buck.

      Cons

      Too much unconscious chatter about what Goldman Sachs are doing! Not enough senior women.
