Pros

The people The culture The leadership The profit sharing In Austin and the surrounding area, startups are almost literally a dime a dozen. I have worked for many of them as both a full time employee and a contractor. Because of my skill set I often worked directly with CXOs advising on business processes and departmental change...meaning...I have seen it all. I've seen really REALLY bad CXOs, I've seen terrible decisions being made against all advice and reason, I've even seen a series of awful choices bankrupt a company and most often I've seen great employees leave toxic work environments because they just couldn't take it anymore. I don't see any of those things at SFCG. My position is very similar now, in that I work with EVERYONE in the company. I work directly with front-line and client facing employees as well as the CXO level and everyone here works together. SFCG holds employee happiness in high regard and has continually worked toward smarter processes across business units. Also, profit sharing. Very few companies of this size even bother. A lot of companies even promise and fail to pay. SFCG promises and pays. When the company profits, they profit as a team. I don't know that I've ever seen a better corporate culture for employees who are willing to give it their all and work hard. Since some recent reviews have complained about this...I should mention pay. Yes, SFCG pays less than most international technology giants. That's just the way it goes in smaller companies. I've made more in my career and I've made less. Salary is certainly not low, it's more than I need to live well on in one of the most expensive cities in the country. If I valued ONLY my paycheck I could easily get a role paying more in an environment where I have no voice or input and I'm micromanaged by a series of invisible managers......for me, it was an easy choice to make. P.S. virtually no waiting time on paid benefits...from a small company...COME ON!

Cons

Our ping-pong table recently broke. Tragic.

Pros

- Very supportive work environment. the senior leadership team cares about the employee - Great opportunity to learn and grow. Management take time and do their best to support you in the areas you are interested in - Supportive in professional growth. employees all have at least bi-weekly 1:1 with their manager to talk about their ideas/issues/get coaching on questions - The company culture breeds trust and psychologic safety - Quick to adapt to changing business best practices.

Cons

- Small company and tied very closely to Oracle - Can get spread thin time to time when the team is lean. But the mgmt team is always keeping an eye on capacity to avoid lengthening the "spread thin" time
