Mentally draining

Pros

Flexible. Working is quite remote depending on what you are working on

Cons

Limited scope of projects to enhance career. Limited mobility. Timesheet culture killing morale and mentally draining. Every hour should be booked onto client work. Some can't even schedule a lunch break! Scrutinised for any hours you book to other projects. If you're not part of the inner club, hard to get onto interesting projects. Alot of junior staff are left to essentially beg for meaningless work with booking to downtime being a threat. New recruits join without any work to do for weeks.

Pros

Big high profile projects - working here certainly impressed my dad! Generally a nice place to work with good colleagues There's obviously a fair amount of cash washing around to spend on fancy offices and resources needed - most people seem to get a £1000 company laptop on day one. People stay here. Plenty have been here 20 years plus.

Cons

Crazy organisational structure split incomprehensibly between Group, Regions, Units and Divisions. Hence any issue is the subject of turf war / blame game between these and allows those in power to absolve themselves of responsibility. In reality power is in the units/divisions which in my experience operate as fiefdoms with Group trying (and failing) to get units/divisions to fall in line behind new strategy

Pros

You are allowed to breath whilst at work.

Cons

Terrible management, bullying is rife and supported by HR - who need replacing. Worst managers in the world - good staff simply leave. Turn over of staff very high due to bullying managers, poor work environment, casual racism, staff being isolated, projects are all over the place due to no real communication or project planning.....company is pretty awful and staff welfare non existent. Unethical approach to business.

We have an excellent record as a good employer to our 16,000 staff, amply and objectively demonstrated by our various employers’ awards and accreditations. We know of one or two former staff who pursue their personal issues with us through anonymous and unfounded statements like this - which we choose not to debate in an open forum.
