Pros

Good work environment among graduates. Decent progression if you show the right attitude depending on your line manager. Managers are well paid compared to competitors and could have Company shares offered.

Cons

Employer ownership is only for senior managers. Low salary compared to competitors, very low yearly bonus not based on your performance. Career progression depends on your manager as well as training opportunities, you could remain stuck to a graduate role for many years. Management is mostly british as well as staff. Overall poor technical knowledge and no support from senior engineers. Managers very often `work from home`, but don`t really work, even on deadline dates. No flexible working hours. No laptop and phone. Uninspiring senior managers. Projects are not interesting on average. Not many projects interesting projects coming in and often `dead` periods.

Pros

The company has a great family atmosphere, everyone is very friendly, and there is a huge amount of experience across the company. Some IT systems are ahead of the game and have been deployed to encourage a working together attitude. Too many systems have been outsourced, there is little internal knowledge and suppliers are running the ship. Some business areas driving their own technology requirements are superb, but the core infrastructure is suffering badly.

Cons

A large number of staff have never worked anywhere else, while this brings excellent levels of business understanding the drawback is that there is little to no understanding of how things are done elsewhere, often to the detriment of some of the unrealistic requirements, this leaves technical staff feeling under valued and ignored. Implementing new technologies is great, but when it is done without considering the impact on an enterprise scale it can be a potential disaster, and you constantly spend time firefighting, which is what is happening.

Very good but room for improvement

Pros

Strong professional company with high standards. Good reputation in the market and can genuinely offer international opportunities.

Cons

Lack of transparency over salaries and underpaid in regional offices. Very restricted share scheme - An 'employee owned' company should enfranchise the majority of it's employees to be able to participate in ownership, not a select few (20% approx.).
