No one cares about your job growth, you basically have to beg for a promotion and a tiny raise, and by the time they approve it its been two years and you get less than what you ask for because everything is up to "position control" yet they still manage to give you three people's worth of work and expect you to do it and "audition" for the role you want (without any guarantee they'll give it to you). If anyone on your team leaves, surprise you're now responsible for their work and because you're already doing it now they dont see the need to hire anyone to replace that person or compensate you for the extra work you're doing. They expect you to go to these conferences, pay for it up front out of pocket, and then take >4 months to reimburse you. Its impossible to get anyone to respond to emails or get anything done, so that also ends up falling on your plate. Basically, if you're a good worker be prepared to get taken advantage of to the point where you hit burn out and suddenly if you start underperforming (aka do what you're getting paid to do), they find faults with everything you do but never pay attention to how you were doing 3 people's jobs for no raise or promotion. Essentially, if you're not a doctor, you have no respect and are a nobody.

You’ll need to watch that you are getting paid appropriately. There is no badging in or Kronos system. Any extra work needs to be approved by a supervisor. They can only approve 1hr extra and even after you submit your hours, you will need to follow up. It can take up to a year to settle any wrong time accounts and you will need Union help and the Department of Labor. Watch out for your PTO. Sick time and vacation hours disappear with no reason. You’ll have to contact the union again and the department of labor. According to contract, you are supposed to get paid out your vacation time once you leave the system but that may not happen. It’s practically impossible to reach HR.
