Pros

You get to work for a high profile client. Good for resume building and getting an idea of what working for a large corporation can be like, should you choose to pursue this as a career path. Working hours were flexible though I've been told by colleagues still working here that this has changed. Option to work from home for the foreseeable future. We were compensated by our client for hours lost during the citywide power outage due to the winter storm.

Cons

You are held to a very high standard in terms of productivity and quality. I will not say it is unrealistic to meet the standards with a good work ethic, however there is an implicit tradeoff between productivity and quality. If one is really good the other tends to suffer. On the days I was able to meet both I was working too hard for my paygrade and was not made to feel like it was a worthy accomplishment or use of my skills. Management is clearly biased and singles out any individuals who conflict with or question the toxic work culture. You are made more aware of your mistakes than your strengths and made to feel like "cog in the machine". I had 3 different managers while working here. The best one pursued a different career as a result of working here. Another stepped down from the management position likely because of the immense and underpaid (management makes well below the industry median salary) pressure put on her. My last immediate supervisor took every opportunity to condescend to members of our team while showboating her own accomplishments as if that's somehow supposed to motivate us. Additionally you will be frequently micromanaged with video call "help sessions". It's really reflective of the overall company culture to have someone like that behave in such a way in a position of power. Which brings me to my final and most important point. The culture here is just soul crushing. Genuinely good people leave while the backstabbing ones who manipulate office politics stay. The company will make it blatant they don't value you as a person by starting you off as a contract employee with no benefits or transparency to a future with the company. They only care about their bottom line and you're treated more as a liability than an asset.

Pros

The people are friendly, the benefits are good, and it's easy to interact with the human resources department.

Cons

The place was disorganized, and I was mislead about the positions from the start. I received recruiting calls from different recruiters about the same job. They set me up with an interview for one position, and told me it was something other than what it was. I interviewed for another position that was made to sound technical, but ended up being little more than glorified technical support. They made a hard low ball offer that I almost rejected outright. After sleeping on it, I made the mistake of accepting the offer. In the short time I was there, I discovered that the team I worked with had to constantly fight to get the tools they needed to do the job. Instead of purchasing licenses for certain pieces of software that were necessary for the job, the company pushed employees to use the free, but non-commercial versions. Employees were occasionally blocked from doing this by the software vendor, and had to create workarounds to continue to get access to the free non-commercial version of this software. The company appeared to be unwilling to staff the team well enough that overtime was not necessary to keep up on their tasks, but threatened to take disciplinary action against them if they worked overtime. In interactions with third party vendors employees were also expected to lie in certain circumstances in order to just get the job done. Even after several days there, I still did not have to time keeping logins or the tools I needed to train to do the job, let alone the tools needed to actually do the job.
