Pros

Free lunches/snacks, health perks, bonuses

Cons

Overall company moral has changed drastically for the worst over the past year and seems to only decline as time goes on. A lot of the groups are uneasy about the reorgs due to so many people quitting and scrambling to fill the gaps. Mozilla used to be a leader but is now struggling to keep their products alive. Mobile has not proven as successful as the company thought and now they are repurposing groups to help the main product, firefox desktop which they let fall too far down already. I'm not sure if Mozilla can actually ever rebound to what they once were ages ago, but if they continue this way they will be extinct dinosaurs.

Pros

You can work from anywhere, the vacation time is quite generous by US standards (4 weeks a year). Mozilla is big name to put on your resume that still gets some respect from recruiters.

Cons

There doesn't seem to be any paths for advancement in the company anymore. After two re-orgs (and four CEOs) in two years the company seems more interesting in putting the cogs into the places it needs them than it is finding a good balance between individual's career goals and the work the company needs to do. There doesn't seem to by anyone steering the ship, so different groups will often be working on the same problem without any collaboration or idea that anyone else in the company is working on the same thing. Pay for new comers is good, but the company doesn't keep up with the rising salaries in the tech industry and you will very quickly be making below the average salary in the industry, and the company is actively trying to keep employes below average salary for their position. With very few paths "up the ladder" your pay will stagnate pretty quickly.

Pros

Some of the smartest engineers I've ever worked with are here. Mostly friendly people

Cons

leadership has no clue what they're doing. They're running Mozilla like a for profit except it doesn't make any profit, and they have no incentives to do otherwise. Rolling layoffs for the past 2 years. They buy startups just to shutter them. They start and grow products and kill them off just as they've reached a tipping point. They miss easy layups like chrome moving to manifest v3 for extensions. Honestly it feels like they're just on the Titanic stuffing as much silverware into their pockets as they can at this point.
