Pros

Excellent work life balance. Competitive comp. Generous bonus structure and benefits.

Cons

Fails to live up to the mission. Leadership has no interest in furthering the product offering or modernizing the business for relevance in today's market. Careerism is a plague. No interest in growing talent or rewarding good work.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about Mozilla. We appreciate you mentioning our benefits and competitive compensation. Over the last several months we’ve been creating an internal Career Level Guide. It’s intended to help everyone grow in their careers at Mozilla. Managers and our Directing staff have started rolling out the guides for their teams to understand where they are now and how they can grow within Mozilla. Our Marketing team and Product teams are working closely together to not only speak about a better internet but launch more products to allow our words to carry weight e.g. Facebook Container, Firefox Monitor, and Mozilla VPN are already providing tools for a safer internet. And of course, we hope to continue generating impactful products as we continue to invest in new product development. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. If you have any other specific feedback to share, please feel free to email us directly. Thank you,

Pros

Nice location, nice benefits, free food

Cons

Middle management is killing Mozilla. There is zero accountability and many appear to have no respect at all for the mission or for the organization’s values. My first manager spent a year doing nothing to advance the team nor think long-term about us as individuals or about how our work fed into the organization’s objectives. She left after a year, having “finished paying for her mortgage.” My second manager was no better. A overall tragedy of a human being. He has since been promoted. HR is no better, sadly. Conniving and untrustworthy. I don’t want to go into details since this is a public forum. A real shame.

Pros

* Work/Life balance is probably the best around * Great for remote working * Very nice Benefits * Great place to learn if you are just out of school or an intern * Mission and Values (though sometimes can't figure out how this relates) * Effort to expand diversity * Financially stable * Some great colleagues

Cons

* Very conservative culture in developing new products. Is afraid it will damage its brand. Things move very slowly. * While it wants to have a risk taking, it penalizes those who fail (the closure of the connected devices division and layoff of employees as an example) * It is a one product company with a big sugar daddy (Yahoo) * Not hungry to innovate. There is no real vision for its flagship product other than to keep adding features. * Mostly trying to protect market share from sliding even more against Chrome * Doesn't have a strong vision of the future - just churning out browser releases * Lives in its past glory and thinks that its brand will carry them forward.
