Pros

Good pay, very competitive rates, RCG does not consider anyone for long-term, so they pay well in order to hire experienced professionals

Cons

You are treated as commodity, no career development or long-term prospective, you are here to make money for RCG Your knowledge and experience is being used to promote RCG, no recognition or respect Once the project framework is laid out, experienced professionals replaced by offshore resources

Downward death spiral

Pros

They have some amazingly talented thought leaders.

Cons

They don’t know what to do with their amazingly talented thought leaders. Leadership retired 15 years ago and forgot to leave. Regions are autonomous and there is no thought as to how to leverage success or come together and create a true global company or value that all regions can offer the same capabilities and quality. Over the decades they have gone through just about every decent client out there and have been thrown out or not welcome to come back. They define a global capability as someone who did something once and they left 5 years ago. Don’t get me started on the marketing or lack there of. Absolutely no engagement or partnerships with vendors or tech providers. If you are hired in sales you will have zero support and a region where they have no clue who RCG is or they don’t want them back. There is absolutely no compelling reason or differentiator for anyone to want to work with them. The PE firm that bought them is simply turning the screws and saying “you’re a consultancy not a staffing company”. But reality is 90% of their revenue is staffing through SOWs. (Offshore too) no global delivery process, no consistent project management. Revenue dropping and CEO rolled out recently. If this isn’t the definition of a company in a death spiral I don’t know what is.
