Don't Even Consider It

Pros

Work/life balance is somewhat flexible.

Cons

Current salary is 36% below industry average according to the US Bureau of Labor and Statistics. Company is bought, squeezed dry, then resold every 18-24 months. Management is full of either air-heads or LDS elitists. Every competitive differentiator is slowly being outsourced or otherwise nullified. Culture is absolutely fake.

Pros

Coworkers are very friendly and stay positive despite the work environment.

Cons

The communications specialists are treated terribly. This hotline is basically for employee complaints. Unfortunately, the calls are most frequently from angry employees looking for someone to unleash their anger on. The training on how to handle certain calls can be misleading and can feel unethical at times.

I agree that our Communication Specialist do very important work! Please know that your efforts and commitments to our clients was and is valued. Also, I’m glad to read that your coworkers were a positive part of your experience. There are a lot of nice people at NAVEX Global. My personal background with NAVEX Global is in the Contact Center and I found that there was training and support to deal with angry callers, but I understand that this was not your experience. Without more information, I’m not sure what aspect of the training and call management felt unethical to you; our role is to gather the information, document and route appropriately. We do set the expectations with our callers that we are not resolving the issues or providing guidance.

Pros

Performance based shifts Available management Ability to work from home Aside from these are no others that come to mind

Cons

The biggest con is the fact that you do receive the pay that your work requires. The employees are expected to maintain the greatest sense and display of excitement but are burdened with complaints as long as they are on the clock. Breathers are not allowed because the business has to be run but downtime is needed when you receive complaint after complaint. The best way to make more is to be bilingual or cross train which means more work but it is not worth the pressure or headache that comes with it. You become an underpaid psychologist or psychiatrist who cannot offer advice or prescribe medication.
