Great feedback! This former employee hit on some key areas of focus for the Executive Team, which have already been acted on in 2014. Consistent scheduling for the Scouting Team, has been a huge focus. With scouting occurring based on the availability of the entire family, and like most careers in the sports industry, NCSA Head Scout hours are typically nights and weekends. We have been focusing on how to accomplish this with also providing an appropriate work/life balance.

Pros

-if you are looking for a inside sales job this is the place for you -software and technology is very cool and is really simple for families to use -you will get a lot of practice talking to families -the people on the sales staff and recruiting coaches are normally fun people who become friends -benefits package is solid -relaxed dress code -you do constantly get to talk sports

Cons

-CEO is completely out of touch with reality of his own business -top tier VP and management are all yes men- fearful to speak up not wanting to lose their jobs -management team and executives have no real business experience or management/leadership skills when it comes to actually running a company -constant change in message- CEO gets on phone one week saying "we need more deluxe families" and the next saying "we need more free level families " or " we're the experts tell the family what level is based for them" a month later "why are we recommending memberships let the family choose" -company manipulates data to favorably entice families to enroll -customer service wing is great but they are whoa-fully understaffed and company continues to turn blind eye as they focus solely on lining their own pockets -bonuses are constantly achieved by individuals yet never paid out -problems with commission going through on paychecks -low hours and minimal pay -management lacks the straight forwardness that real leaders need- they should just say look we are in this for the money, your power ranking are based off revenue, and you got to pick it up- lets get through these families and find ones that want to buy our product and have the money to do so -salesforce(software) is a nightmare -constant busy work - sending VP's information each night that they already receive if they opened their eyes -constantly changing how we educate families on the front side - such as how we explain our relationship, because we wont come out and say look - we bought your info from one of partners we know you didn't request an evaluation -VPs and CEO always trying to get us to talk around the cost issue- total bait and switch on families -constant turn over

Pros

The program actually works for clients if they use it Gym membership Relaxed dress code Close to public transportation Consistent hard work does go recognized if your manager isn't threatened by you

Cons

Constant change Management tries to spin things in a positive way but is really only talking down to employees and convinced that we are that stupid to believe them Company only cares about sales and service is a distant second High pressure sales tactics are highly encouraged Sales script is designed to scare potential clients into buying a lot earlier than really needed CEO goes on the same rant every month about a fake term he created called "Athleadership" Inside sales reps are instructed to convince families that they requested a call from NCSA when they really didn't and due to a partnership were able to obtain their contact information Every meeting by an executive gets rescheduled and usually within 30 minutes until meeting time When sales are slow they buy inside sales reps lunch to keep them in house instead of letting them leave for lunch Pay is a joke unless you are an outside sales rep "Work in sports" = revolving door with extremely high turnover rate that management doesn't care about. They will always find the next sucker to buy into that term
