-You're not a scout, plain and simple. The only scouting you do is to determine how much money each family has and whether or not they will enroll in the program.
-Zero work/life balance which is something upper management preaches but all they care about is the bottom line and numbers. If you aren't hitting certain numbers for are forced to work extremely long hours plus weekends.
-Unrealistic sales expectations
-This is a call center! Don't be fooled by the title "scout." As a scout, you sit at a desk all day and cold call about 90% of your leads. You're expected to make a certain amount of outbound dials a day and have a minimum of 3+ hours on the phone each day. Does that not sound like a call center?
-No morals in the company and in some employees. Leads are constantly being stolen because of how competitive the nature has become due to meeting sales goals. Totally unethical. Scouts would lie to families on a day to day basis just to set a meeting or get an enrollment.
-NCSA doesn't care if an athlete is 5'4" or 6'3", all that matters to them is whether or not the family has money to sign their kid up. They will tell families that athletes have to be "qualified" to be entered in the network. Biggest joke, ever. The only qualification you need is to have $795, $1,495, or $2,495, and if you have that, you're qualified!
-Be prepared to get extremely micromanaged.
-Absolutely ZERO employee appreciation. Management makes it very clear that each employee is replaceable because of the new crop of college graduates each year.
-The pay is absolutely terrible. $25,000 salary. The commission structure is joke. You are expected to make $2,500 in new revenue every month, or $1,250 every two weeks. They give you an "advance" on your salary and until you make up that money in new revenue, you will actually owe the company money. Now this does change over time as new money keeps coming in but when you first start out, prepare to be in the hole.
-Besides becoming a head scout, ZERO room for career advancement. If you want to be a head scout and work 7 days a week while being paid strictly off commission then this is the perfect job for you.
-You will constantly be forced to take "anonymous" surveys to portray that NCSA is such a great place to work. For example, the "Top 50 Generation Y Employers." You've got to be kidding me.
-People will get fired or quit. While I was at NCSA, I'd say approximately 50-75 employees quit or were fired. Ridiculous turnover. They will drain each employee until they are burned out, then the company will find another person to replace them.
-NCSA is signing up wayyyy too many families for what they can handle. People are constantly dissatisfied with the service because they can't get ahold of anyone to help them! Unprofessional and unorganized, to say the least.
-All management cares about is the bottom line. "How many enrollments and how much revenue." Period.
