Pros

* Benefits are amazing * Campus is beautiful and facilities are great (pre-covid) * Team autonomy on tech stack choices

Cons

* Nearly zero opportunity for horizontal movement. You are essentially stuck on your team and the job board does not prioritize internal candidates * Attrition and turnover is high so there is constant interviewing and onboarding new employees

From Contractor to Full Time

Pros

• Some really nice people work for Nike. • As a contractor Nike didn't want to pay for overtime, so when you hit 40 hours within a week, then your week is done. • I learned some great skills from many talented coworkers.

Cons

• Not all, but many full time employees treat contractors as lesser contributors. It's ironic that a company who brands themselves as proponents of "equality" would allow this behavior to exist within it's walls. • Many talented employees are underutilized. • So many managers exist at Nike. Very top heavy organization.

Pros

The pay was "alright". That's about the only pro. I guess the surrounding landscape was nice also.

Cons

1. Nike is TOTALLY unwilling to compromise with your schedule, even by as little as 30 minutes. In my case, I worked a ton of overtime without any additional pay, that wasn't considered. You are an economic unit to Nike and screw any needs from your personal life. 2. If you're right-wing, this is NOT the place to be. You will be bullied for your beliefs. Not only that, but in my case, the agile coach explicitly attempted to sabotage my position; If it weren't for my stellar performance, their plan likely would have succeeded. 3. Zero perks for working there. I've worked at small, medium and large companies; Nike is one of the few places where you will still need to pay for snacks and drinks there.
