      Pros

      Highly innovative company working on revolutionizing the way cars are built and designed. The autonomy team is working on L4-L5 autonomy, and there are many other teams working on how that impacts the rest of the vehicle - network, security, UI/UX, powertrain, vehicle engineering. Unlike many new auto companies NIO is actually releasing it's first car in China in 2018. Also a very unique opportunity to join the electric vehicle revolution in China.

      Still working on cultural and practical aspects of working so closely with the Chinese market

      First car about to go into production!

      Pros

      I feel like I am part of something bigger than myself. Working on state of the art technologies going into our first production vehicle. We are in crunch time so people are working very hard, like with any super complex product near production. The office has a number of modern benefits that many companies have these days. Free lunch, snacks, a nice gym, etc. A roadmap of several cars ahead, so much to do.

      Cons

      For some people travel to Munich and Shanghai is needed. More space is needed for labs, people, and parking.

      Pros

      One of the few EV start-ups that's set to launch a car this year! Given the price point and branding, it's set to take Tesla head-on in the Chinese market. The company has a track record of building amazing cars in a short duration of time. EP9 is a feat! ES8 is all set for taking on the China market! The engineering teams are amazing and it's a pleasure to work with so many talented people!

      Cons

      The company is young and obviously there are growing pains. That's part of working at a start-up.
