Pros

You can have free oatmeal and soup, the building and grounds are nicely maintained, and the benefits are pretty good.

Cons

Micromanagement to the point of harassment. 5 minute breaks. No work/life balance. Basically prison with pay, but prisoners probably get more respect.

Pros

Generous Pension, outstanding benefits, free soup. Some nice co-workers. Beautiful campus. The number of vacation days/sick days are good. Option to work from home for certain employees in certain departments.

Cons

This is a company with certain managers rule by fear. If you pay attention, You will notice people walk around with fear in their eyes. Being watched closely by management can make you feel like a prisoner sometimes. NJM advertises that they do not lay off people. However, I have witnessed three good people being harassed to the point of resigning. The only thing I regret is Not to have left sooner.

Pros

The pay, good benefits, friendly coworkers

Cons

One of my major cons is the micromanaging. You can do everything in your power to do your job right but management will still find a way to point out the flaws. The constant "checking" to make sure you're not taking too long with a customer or documenting a call. Minor cons are requesting time off (no one wants to be there so a lot of the days are taken) and the hours there is just a 30/45 min lunch and 10 min break. A lot of the procedures are outdated like only being able to mail ID cards to insureds. Also, a lot of the information needed is unnecessarily intrusive. There was no proper training it was a month of learning the basics and we were thrown to the wolves on the busiest day (Monday) The rest weed supposedly learn on the go or through the manual. The NICE call evaluators are very picky. Very corporate and stuffy atmosphere a lot of employees look miserable and don't really speak to each other. Also the customers can be very rude because they don't really understand NJM procedure and some outdated practices NJM can be confusing and frustrating for insureds and reps.
