I have worked at North Kansas City Hospital for six years, this facility has been nurturing and supportive. I have been encouraged from the day I was hired to continue my education and to be involved with unit and hospital initiatives. NKCH as an organization has a heart, they care about patient safety and improving staffing. I feel the administration strives to create a healthy happy work environment and a culture of respect for all staff.

Cons

As most facilities experience turnover and short staffing issues, NKCH is no different. At times staffing levels dip as the census rises. This organization does need to improve staff diversity, it is a disadvantage to have very little diversity among staff staff.

Procedural areas are great. A lot of opportunity to move around or transition to other areas. Clinical ladder opportunities for extra money.
