Pros

Free soda, clean building, semi flexible hours

Cons

Management doesn't listen to the employees before making any decisions. The new lean principles are not making the process lean at all. Things are moving slower and they are cutting most peoples wages. They also promote the least qualified managers who run the programs into the ground and make people hate their lives.

Pros

Coworkers, outside of management, are passionate about the organic industry and really want to make a difference.

Cons

Increased "opportunity" comes with more workload, no compensation, no acknowledgement, and no vertical growth opportunity. Organic certification is getting brushed aside by management, all it's forces are being dumped into food safety. The brunt of this is felt by employees and clients. Good luck NSF.

Pros

NSF's mission is a worthy cause and they do very good work. There are a lot of very fine people who work for NSF in middle management and below, who believe in NSF's Misson. Benefits are better than average.

Cons

Company is run for the benefit of their most senior leadership. Take a look at the past few form 990s and you'll see NSF's leadership pay themselves significantly more than comparable sized publicly traded companies, while average salaries and increases are very low for the rank and file worker. They have a strong tendancy to get rid of their middle managers in January of each year to avoid paying them bonuses. Most NSF staff can name you a long list of people who are let go in January to the point it's gallow's humor.
