Pros

Struggling to think of any. I would say there is room to be flexible in your schedule as long as you meet deadlines, which is nice, but also not really unique to this company in today's climate. I enjoyed the company I worked for prior to NV5 buying us out.

Cons

Really a terrible, toxic company to work for. There are a multitude of reasons why, but I'll highlight some of the most important: -Poor Leadership - People promoted into management positions who have absolutely no business managing people. -Inequity - Those who do the bare minimum are regularly celebrated and rewarded. It's really quite baffling. I can't help but feel there's some bureaucratic reasoning behind this. - Poor pay - Upper management makes very good money, however below that the pay compared to the industry standard is laughable. And then you are supposed to clap and cheer for your 1% raise. - No 401k match and no bonuses - These were two things promised to us during the buyout, however, it was not true. Our Christmas bonus this past year was a $40 Amazon gift card. No lie. They've also stripped our holidays down to a total of 5 paid days off. NV5 is not a mission-driven company. They are out to make money, and they do not care about their employees. The ONLY way I'd recommend working here is to get a year of experience (if you're entry-level) and then hightail it somewhere else.

Pros

To be completely honest I have nothing good to say about this company. I guess the only thing I can think of is that the office is decent and clean.

Cons

Do believe every single bad review that you read on glassdoor because I can confirm most of them are accurate. This is the most toxic workplace I have ever worked in. They only allow employees to work a couple months remotely and ask them to come back full-time in the office during the peak of Covid. While they did provide PPE supplies, many individuals still walked around without a mask or practicing social distancing. The office anxiety and morale was extremely low during that time as far as I can remember. Bonuses that are promised at the time of hiring are a complete lie. I have been with the company three years now and have not received a dollar of bonus in my paycheck. Same goes for raises. Average yearly raise was less than 1%, with annual reviews meeting or exceeding expectations. That is not even enough to keep up with inflation, especially this year. Management keeps most of the raise pool for the department and leaves the crumbs for the staff below them, hence the 1% average annual raise. Not sure how HR/executives are okay with that. I have not seen one promotion. From what I have seen, the majority of the open positions are filled by management hiring old coworkers buddies that they worked with at their old companies so you have zero chance of growth. Turnover has been very high as well… I have seen positions with three different faces in a 12 month span. New employees almost every month = Red Flag anywhere. Upper management is incompetent. No real strategy, no leadership skills, ZERO communication and poor decision making. They lie to our faces constantly and push down all of their responsibilities. Very low level of knowledge in their area of expertise…. Not sure how many of them lied during their interviews but definitely a good amount must have gotten away with it. Bottom line, red flags all over the place in this company. Take care of your career and your mental health, stay away. What a huge mistake I made ending up at this place.

Pros

I can't think of any, aside from being nearby where I live, but now that makes no difference to me. Stay clear if you actually value you're livelyhood and outcome of you're career.

Cons

They are under staffed, and expect results with out any planning or direction. The engineers above you throw you under the bus for their poor planning and empty promises. The company owners and executives hire and fire with out any concern for your well being or career.
