Pros

There’s not much positive to say.

Cons

They are a large corporate conglomerate owned by a private equity firm. They treat their employees terribly and don’t care even a little about the health of the pets.

Pros

Very dependent on your coworkers. There is nothing too special about NVA as such; although that can be a benefit or a drawback, depending on what you are looking for.

Cons

Sometimes use clunky software. Occasional annoyances.

Pros

manager and team was always fun to work with, felt like I made a true difference in numerous client’s and pet’s lives in a demographic area that needed veterinary care — client’s financial concerns are kept at the forefront when making diagnostic/treatment/medication considerations. Any problems with clients (verbal abuse, yelling at staff, etc.) was never tolerated and always shut down immediately. My manager always vouched for me if I had a discrepancy with a client, and would appropriately fire that client. This was a refreshing change from previous hospitals I’ve worked at where you had to keep ‘holding the clients hand’ to appease them over what’s best for our hospital work culture.

Cons

Was notified only 6 weeks prior — that my hospital location was shutting down. Was barely given notice and barely had any idea that our location was failing to meet quarterly standards and quotas to the extent where permanent closure was an option. Was given a couple sheets of paper when notified of the layoff for external mental health resources, some NVA hospitals that are hiring for LVTs (didn’t state pay range, or job description) just hospital name, address and phone number. Upper management NEVER ONCE came to help out our hospital location with trying to help us improve sales through teaching, improve client retention and satisfaction through customer relations, improve SEO and website issues, etc.
