Where to begin? National general and AmTrust are owned by the same family. They "outsource" the development of IT systems to AmTrust - which is quite simply run by unqualified people who hire their family members (seriously). The Karfunkel family cares about one thing : moving $ from policyholders to their own pockets. ZERO emphasis on company culture, employee satisfaction, competitive pay/bonus structures, etc. The brand new "class leading" policy management system is an absolute joke. Claims is an absolute nightmare with turnover rates topping laughable levels. They entice people away from other companies with bigger salaries, but they have no idea that the bonuses are nowhere near competitive and the workload is abysmal. The mixture of old GMAC and new Nat Gen employees makes for a weird, bitter cocktail. To top it off, the only people (Sr management) who can act as a buffer to the maniacal CEO are the leftovers from old GMAC who weren't canned back in '08. These people weren't handpicked for their amazing vision and ability. They simply made less $ than their counterparts (probably for good reason) who were terminated.
