Pros

Loved my team of individual contributors. Company was reasonably well-organized and goal-oriented. Very flexible work arrangements.

Cons

- Way too much ego in management. "My way is best because it'll make me look good, never mind what SMEs think." - Very cheap . 7%-9% inflation yet 2%-3% merit increase for two years straight despite stellar reviews from my management. Seems to be a problem since the Allstate acquisition. - Benefits overall pretty poor. PTO is ok at 20 days, but the benefit system is a nightmare. Allstategoodlife.com will make you pull your hair out, and stupid Livongo is apparently going to send me junk mail for the rest of my life. Extremely expensive health insurance. They are also making it as hard as possible for me to roll my 401k out of Allstate's plan. - Pervasive diversity/inclusion problems. Plenty of homophobia, transphobia, and sexism. I would not want to work here as a minority.

Excessive workload

Pros

Good benefits, great vacation time off for new employees. Work from home.

Cons

Workload is too much for one person. You cannot keep up in a 40 hour work week. No one can sustain working overtime constantly. Then customers get angry because you cannot respond in a timely manner. Not a good situation. They continually have to hire because people get too stressed and leave. It's unfortunate because it can be so much better. I would not recommend this place. If everyone would speak up and stop working overtime maybe management would see how it is.

Pros

Great job culture and team environment, I had the pleasure with working with an awesome team of managers, and that I will greatly miss. Great benefits ( Allstate benefits). Company is constantly seeking opportunities to reward their employees i.e gift certificates, etc.

Cons

Workload is above normal, about 50 claims/week on the auto property damage side. Be ready on Mondays to receive up to 15 new claims, aside from the weekend ones. Even more with the Allstate buyout, focus is more on customer service and calls answered-which is great, but adjusters will fall behind work due to not enough time to complete work (due to always answering calls) , always working OT to play catch up to meet metrics, not enough work/ life balance. If you are a new hire this is a great company for experience and lots of OT, however as soon as you can get experience, leave so that you don’t burnout and you don’t lose your morale. Give or take, a normal auto claims workload in other companies is around 30 claims per week in a 40 hr work week. So just imagine when you are bombarded each week with 50 claims. Eventually the old claims you were not able to complete will add to your call volume. Your mental health comes first.
