Don't Let The Smooth Taste and Fresh Look Fool You!

Pros

Location and they received tax incentives to bring business to the area. Its's Insurance and Insurance is big business. Formally GMAC and for years had a strong reputation, that helped to build company.

Cons

Ownership wants profit at any cost. Everyone is just a number. Some of the individuals in middle management know how a real business should be operated but fail to do so in fear of their jobs. The President of this organization is shallow at best and doesn't have a clue to the nuts and bolts of making this organization work. Walks around the company at both locations like a peacock, while the owners ( is a family run business now) do the same thing invoking a " plantation mentality". The lack of trust and respect for the workers and employees is disheartening but the reality is people need jobs. Once a company to build a career now a company to get a paycheck for the time! Don't let the Smooth taste or the Fresh Look fool you. There are a lot of immediate and future changes that must be made internally if this company is to regain any credibility.

Currently in claims- started in Service (not sure which is worse)

Pros

- new company, a chance for current leadership to leave and new leadership to take over (much needed in claims) - decent computer system compared to where I came from - co-workers are like my family- love going to Indians games, dinner, and hang out with my second family

Cons

- was originally hired in customer service back in early 2012. Horrible department and managed by morons with questionable morals. - I applied to claims thinking it would be better...leadership is worse than customer service! Good ole boys club- if you don't fit in, you are on the outside. - unmanageable workload and unrealistic expectations. - completely dillusional senior leaders in all departments

With hard work and focus, it's been a great place to grow

Pros

Lots of opportunity if you go after it and work hard. You can't expect things to just be handed to you. Work hard, do the best job you can, try not to complain about every little thing that happens (some people just have it in their nature) and you get recognized, acknowledged and rewarded.

Cons

At all levels, like anywhere else, there's a "that's not my job" mentality with a lot of people. A lot of people here don't get the team mentality and that we're all working together. They'd rather complain and avoid doing what they'd consider "extra" work. You'll find that anywhere you go. People are too skeptical, too. They'd rather post some negative comments on a website as opposed to stepping up and saying something to a manager. Your job is what you make it.
