Pros

Nice people and some of the teams are really nice to work in. Location is quite chic, and nice, by the Spree, with lots of restaurants in the area.

Cons

The company culture is just a facade, same for inter-team collaboration. Many of the old employees are so frustrated that that in the best case they just mimic their interest for the product. In reality all they do is to fight for their position and a possible promotion. This creates a very toxic environment that hinders the development of any of the good ideas that anyone might have.

Pros

Talented, driven, music obsessed people, free beer and breakfast, free software and good hardware discount, pilates in the office, nice office location

Cons

Chaos at all levels, constant changes in staff and structure, upper management does not care about the people or company culture, knowledgable staff continually ignored to serve the whims of the CEO, no investment in teaching the staff how to use company products, no advancement opportunities, no women in higher management positions, no attempt to connect departments and make cohesive decisions, no onboarding process for new staff, being a data driven company only important when it suits the upper management, zero confidence from the employees in the company strategy, feedback points from terrible employee survey results never addressed, employees in constant fear of being fired for no reason, no bridge between technical teams and the rest of the company, long, boring quarterly meetings with no real information, just staff forced to listen to the CEO go on for an hour

Pros

* great team and team spirit * really interesting and motivating topics & projects * ability to make a difference for teams and products on an individual level

Cons

* a lot of confusion and management mistakes at the top management level in the last 3 years. There have been now many changes and they are really trying to do things differently, but it remains to be seen how this develops * several service departments suffer from understaffing in combination with the tools they use * growth & development of internal people has been an issue

Pros

Nice folks at team level, office in Kreuzberg, etc.

Cons

You‘ve probably read all the other reviews that have been posted in the last weeks. Unfortunately every single word of it is true. A lot of talented and experienced coworkers have been fired, others left on their behalf. Many of the remaining ones are demotivated. If you would want to describe the atmosphere at NI in one word: Toxic. If you are browsing Glassdoor you most likely haven‘t joined the company yet. So you don’t care too much about past events. You will be more interested in the future of NI. Ok, what is to expect in the next 1-2 years? That‘s the sad part: Nothing positive. There seems to be no plan how to execute the roadmap with the reduced staff. There‘s no clear strategy where to go with the company. Don‘t get fooled by the PR that was released after the August layoffs. Nobody at NI knows yet what One Native and the platform strategy really mean as priorities change every few weeks. The CPO doesn‘t have any vision for his department. The CMO is trying to apply at NI what he has learnt in his last jobs. But he hasn‘t realized yet that NI‘s business is a different one. The CEO doesn’t learn from his mistakes (and he made a few in the last two years), is still convinced that only he knows what‘s best for NI and is just not willing to listen to anyone. Last week's Q&A session showed that there‘s no sign that anything has changed. My advice: Don‘t join this company. I‘m serious about it. Don‘t do it. The bad times at NI are not over. If there‘s not a miracle happening - and I don’t believe in miracles - then we will hear more bad news from this company in the next year.

Pros

- Fantastic products, a deeply ingrained music culture and wonderful people. - A number of really exciting new projects in the pipeline. - Developments focussed on making music production available to people with different abilities (e.g. visual-impairment). - The recently appointed Executive Team has made a number of significant and positive steps towards creating a truly open, positive and collaborative environment. - Native has returned to its Music Technology roots with a future spin and is moving into fresh waters after a challenging few years. - The opportunity to connect and work with many great artists.

Cons

- DEIBA and sustainability topics are in their infancy, but there is a strong and very real commitment from the new Executive Team. - The company has been through a turbulent few years which has lead to a need for rebuilding in some areas. However, with this there is of course great opportunity.
