Pros

Benefits, starting pay...free food and drinks. $2k travel stipend. PTO, gym reimbursement...company happy hours and swag... still the best company I’ve worked for despite how quick it’s going downhill. Sometimes you can work from home if it’s late or your day off.

Cons

Management is awful, often times won’t give you an answer and never get back to you with an answer or straight lie. I know several people that have been sexually harassed by management and other departments but won’t say anything in fear of losing their job. I used to love this company it seemed as though we were spoiled and now it is a glorified call center, the culture is depleting with micromanaging and little positive feedback. It is very much a popularity contest. Parking is expensive but they pay you a percentage back. The training is very minimal and unorganized you have to learn as you go and dig to find things or rely on other people that don’t know either. Not a lot of positive reenforcement. Seniority doesn’t matter. They don’t do pay raises. They did a quarterly review to try to make people feel heard, which resulted in nothing. Best to keep your head down if you work there or make friends with the right people. Support is not recognized like it should be. There’s been so many times I’ve gone out of my way not to be acknowledged.

Thank you for this feedback, it's very important to hear and to address these concerns. To start, we take claims of sexual harassment and fear of retaliation very seriously. We strongly encourage any employee who feels unsafe or who has concerns or examples of harassment to reach out to the People team, we sit right here in the Dallas office. Additionally, any employees who raise concerns will not be retaliated against and we have processes in place to prevent such things from happening. We hosted sexual harassment prevention training earlier this year and will do so again in early 2020. It's very important to us to create a culture not at all like that of a 'typical call center' and to do so, rely on feedback from the employees. Many of the ideas we've put into place recently (like our internal job board, revamping our employee on boarding, recognition programs) have come directly from our employees, so please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly with your feedback. Thank you!"

Pros

The people on my team were incredible and I forged life long friendships. Without my team, I wouldn't have been able to survive. The pay was also good and slightly above market rate.

Cons

I think the other negative reviews paint a better picture than I could ever surmise, but just do yourself a favor and do not join this company as an Account Manager or Customer Success Manager. They recently laid off 6+ reps and are already looking to fill the same position. Buyer beware as this is extremely sketchy. My time at TripActions was a total bait and switch. My role reverted back to responsibilities that I was told were removed from the day to day during my interview process. During the interview process, the removal/changes of responsibilities were even highlighted as a positive by leadership members who were then fired within my first few months. The current org leadership is awful, they do not care about you or you well being. I had 3 managers in my first 5 months in the role and my book of business changed more times than I can remember. The CS/AM organization is completely self-centered and does not show any true care for their customers. They are always thinking about what is best for them and do not care how messaging, change, asks, etc affect their customer and how the customer views their rep. I constantly felt uncomfortable with the asks leadership demanded we request from clients. Please read all of the other negative reviews as they do an incredible job of describing my time at this company.

Pros

401K and travel bonus. Easy to sell.

Cons

The overall morale and culture has been on the decline this past year and shows little sign of improving. I’ve tried going to HR to resolve these issues but it seems like the only way to get attention is by posting on Glassdoor or other mediums. I’m not a fan of airing dirty laundry publicly, but things need to change around here. I think there are really good people here overall, but what’s lacking is senior leadership that has the right experience to get us to the next level. Work used to be so much more fun and I miss when communication lines were much more open at all levels. I thought it was isolated just to my department. Then, when I started asking around I found it to be a common story among colleagues. It’s crazy to me that you hire a person to be in charge of your culture that has no prior HR experience. When her own direct reports question her ability to get the job done, that’s alarming. My fear is that we will become the butt of jokes in the media with terrible culture. Because people are afraid to call each other out on stuff and hold people accountable. I don’t think promoting enablers or “yes” people is the best way to improve the company. Because many of us are sitting on valuable equity it makes it hard to leave, but don’t mistake that for us being happy. It’s becoming patronizing to constantly be told “I hear you” “growing pains” “hang in there.” It’s almost comical when you hear our HR folks go on podcasts and webinars to tell other people how to improve their companies culture. Maybe work on your own companies rapidly declining one first? If you are looking at working here, I do think there is still potential benefits to doing so. However, I can’t recommend it with the current leadership and structure in place.
