Some talented people work here

Head over to Team Blind– most of what is posted there is accurate. Layoffs are quietly happening (customer success and marketing) while the CEO assures everyone that everything is fine. There is no transparency– other departments aren't even aware of layoffs and only find out via former colleagues' LinkedIn posts and deactivated Slack accounts. The culture here really is toxic, no exaggeration. People are burnt out. Job scope changes frequently. Leadership is in way over their heads and don't provide clear strategy or direction. Most of strategy seems to be what competitors are doing. The CRO has somehow convinced the leadership team that he is a capable leader, which he is not. The marketing team has gradually disappeared because the CEO thinks he and the CRO are capable of running marketing on their own– which they are not. Customer success is an absolute mess and has significant churn. No one is appreciated or properly resourced. HR is nonexistent. Middle-management is handcuffed by egotistical CEO who seems more excited to talk about his newest sneakers than how to empower the team. The only 5-star reviews are from SDRs who have literally worked there for less than a month and were thrown a party and given swag.

Pros

My immediate teams were collaborative across the various Security disciplines and we worked well together for the most part

Cons

Absolutely pathetic 'C level' who runs the 'Security' domain focused on her Ego & Pride. She will sink this ship at the blink of an eye if the Founders do not step in and fix or simply get rid of this baggage. Her only POV is to dismantle you with every conversation so she can show who is clearly in charge. With this attitude and Mentality, NO ONE will get ahead. Lacks common sensibilities and demonstrates absolutely NO respect for your views. I strongly suspect the other Team members will look to quit under her (lack of) Leadership. I am forced to give 1 star, however this is a ZERO star outfit. Sadly, the founders are all too aware of this BS and will not do a thing but continue to support her :( and watch others more deserving simply quit.

We appreciate your feedback and communicating with candor, I have read and taken this review into consideration. Every manager has their own style of leadership and I am sorry to hear that in this case, there was not a successful connection between you and your manager. Based on the very low attrition within this department, it makes me feel even stronger about the importance of working with managers and teammates to develop those strong and prosperous relationships. Regardless, I am sure that you are coming from a good place and that everything you said, you mean. It is not always easy to go through transition periods with team leadership and that experience can be challenging for some, though temporary. We have now put that transitional period behind us and we are very excited to have recently brought on our new CISO, who is leading this org and seeing some exceptional results. We feel extremely confident in the continued success of this team. As a leadership team at TripActions, we are always looking to keep all of our employees engaged and heard. Showing respect as well as having an environment of transparent and collaborative communication is an integral part of our company culture. I wish you a lot of luck with the next company and the next manager. I am sorry that it did not work out for you here.

CHANGES NEED TO BE MADE

Pros

At this point the only pro is that we are all working from home so we don’t have to see each other in this stressful condition.

Cons

We are under complete and utter stress 24/7. The company has made it almost impossible to do our jobs correctly. We’ve been put under the light of the APP that never works correctly and are still told we need to figure it out under a certain amount of time or else we will be written up. We are also being told that upper management is being pinned against each other in efforts to get rid of people. They have completely undermined the lower teared group of consultants and put them in a position where they have no room to move. Other employees are in a position where they don’t think there is any way they can positively come out of this job OK. It has become a disaster for a company I once thought was great to work for. These problems did not occur when covid-19 happened they already existed before then.
