      More cons than pros

      Pros

      Nice office, ok benefits, recent round of funding

      Cons

      The company has a serious void of competent people leaders. There are managers everywhere, but the title does not equate to competence. This starts from the very top. The co-founders are neither inspiring, nor good leaders of people. Their respective orgs are run more out of fear than hiring solid people and trusting their decisions. A culture of blame certainly exists. Certain departments are completely devoid of leadership and managers are pulling the rope in all different directions, then changing course on a regular basis. Overall, the company seems to be doing ok from a business perspective despite the internal mess. It’s hard to imagine this continuing as the company gets bigger and bigger and these issues are magnified.

Our culture is a huge part of who we are at TripActions and we fully recognize that having great managers is critical for a company growing as fast as we are all around the globe. We recognize that things can get crazy at a hyper-growth startup, but that's never an excuse for ensuring our managers are the best they can be across the board.       Perfect at the Micro-Management Level

      - Great Perks, some good teams, fast-growing

      Cons

      - LinkedIn can speak for itself. Tons of first-time managers - Asked to bcc all interactions to your manager - Success is more of a support gig - Boss will yell out you privately, and then throw you under the bus to save themselves - Success often makes fun of their own customers. Heard threats of "My way or the highway" - Many act to be your friend, but if you listen closely - they are actually talking behind your back

      Amazing place to work with so much runway ahead!

      Pros

      - Engaged leadership: Co-founders and the management team are very engaged with the business and help instill a sense of camaraderie even as we're getting bigger. - Great culture: Strong collaboration across teams and a real sense of commitment to helping the business be successful. - Strong business: Incredible product that's truly disrupting the travel space. If you like to travel, it's so fun to be constantly talking about a product you truly care about. - People: Let's be honest, at a job it's usually the people who matter most. The people at TripActions really care about their work and want to do the right thing. And we have fun in the process :)

      Cons

      - Startup life isn't for everyone. There's so much to do and you constantly need to ruthlessly prioritize to be successful. - HQ in Palo Alto may not necessarily be convenient, but many teams have flexibility to work from SF.
