* Job security * Good work/life balance * Decent benefits beyond medical, dental and pension * Tax free shopping benefit and the exchange * Career opportunities are there for those with ambition

Cons

* In some locations, too many chiefs and not enough Indians * Unbalanced, unrealistic customer service / task expectation inhibits productivity * Due to change in culture in the NEX system, there is a vast difference in the skill set and ambition level between tenured employees and new hires

can be extremely political dealing with customers who are not authorized (not active nor retired military) who try to shop on base

Great benefits. You can not beat them. Stable job if you can tolerate the horrible work hours.

Cons

The worst management, horrible hours, very negative and demeaning. Treat you like a slave.
