Pros

for the benfits if you are part time or full time and can afford it

Cons

hire managment positions from outside the company but always talk about hiring from within. They even have programs to go through to get advanced but even after doing the progarms they still hire someone from outside the company and then want you to teach that person how to do the job they were hired for.

Pros

The Navy Exchange offers great benefits, a retirement plan, and is willing to work around scheduling issues (I was also in school at the time) in order to keep employees.

Cons

You're treated like a thief from the start. All employees have to use clear bags to carry things on the sales floor. While they offer benefits, they come at a cost (about $100 every paycheck for basic coverage). The Navy Exchange is run like the military--branches and hierarchies, neither of which talk to one another, which means that you get stuck in the branch that you entered. The turnover rates for employees are very high.

Pros

If you want more hours, they're willing to give it you. the pay is descent. I started at $7.50 (in November 2006) and got up to $8.69 (August 2008).

Cons

The higher level managers don't treat their employees that well. If you take a Flex position (anywhere up to 40 hours), you don't get any benefits. I was working there for two years, working 40 hours every week and didn't get any benefits. But part timers who work 20 hours get sick days and vacation days
