Toxic and Exhausting

Pros

Great pay, prestigious clients, top-down transparency

Cons

This agency is not worth the prestige and pay. I am continually expected to work overtime and respond to emails after work hours. Completely clientcentric and no one values employees above clients. 0 culture regardless of the HR offerings, there's simply no time to enjoy them. NO training at all. It is an incredible weakness and makes it very challenging to get up to speed. Though the overall company is transparent, my division is very tight-lipped about how well we're doing and what we can improve upon. What is hardest for me is the lack of collaboration. No one unexpectedly chats or calls/videos to explain things. Everything is extremely formal and short and must be at least a 30-minute meeting later in the week. Lack of training, collaboration, and work/life balance make me very depressed during the workweek and I've been here a little less than a year.

Pros

The benefits are good, and if you're not at the director level, your peers can make it bearable. Also, having the brand on your resume for people who aren't marketers is good, but if they are in marketing, you get the side eye.

Cons

-Directors don't take input from managers or contributors -If you're not a referral, you feel like an outcast -Lack of maturity with systems or processes -Silo'd departments make you feel like a gear in a machine -Clients pay for the name, but don't get the "Neil Patel" experience

Fun Growing Digital Agency

Pros

NPD is truly a team atmosphere where everyone pitches in to get things done. The management is taking the right steps to support the rapid growth and they listen to the employees. The co-workers are awesome. Morale is high. Wins are celebrated. There's always snacks in the kitchen. The benefits are better than any other agency in San Diego.

Cons

Rapid growth can be challenging to some as it results in continuous change. The office hours (7-4) may be too early for some.
