Pros

Supportive coworkers and knowledgeable bench-level staff who genuinely care about accuracy and patient impact. The company has national reach and processes a high testing volume, which provides exposure to large-scale clinical operations. Benefits and base pay are generally consistent with similar large scale labs

Cons

Since the acquisition by NeoGenomics, Inc., many legacy scientific roles have gradually shifted toward a much more production-focused workflow. Positions that were once structured around scientific analysis and professional discretion now operate under tighter throughput targets and standardized processing expectations. Candidates expecting a research-style environment treated with professionalism may find the day-to-day work closer to high-volume laboratory production and micro management. There has also been frequent executive leadership turnover over the past several years, which has coincided with repeated operational adjustments and changing internal priorities. From an employee perspective, this can make long-term departmental stability and planning difficult. The company previously resolved a wage-and-hour matter related to timekeeping/pay practices that resulted in employee compensation adjustments. While this is in the past, it contributed to concerns among staff about administrative systems and communication transparency. More recently, scheduling expectations appear to be shifting toward increased mandatory overtime, required holiday work-even on Christmas Day, along with eliminating part-time roles. For employees hired under earlier staffing models, this represents a significant change in work-life balance and scheduling predictability. Overall, the organization today functions very differently from what many long-tenured employees originally joined. Anyone considering employment should ask detailed questions about workload volume, overtime expectations, required holiday work, the ease of obtaining time off, and how their specific role is currently structured within the production model.

Pros

Can mostly do whatever you want your role to be. Decent benefits.

Cons

Culture is horrible. So much management and senior level turnover over last 2 years that workstreams change all too often. Resistance to innovation so getting lapped by other labs.
