Pros

The Nerdery is a great place to work and the Nerds are amazing humans. Every day I am stretched to learn something new with colleagues much smarter than me. Everyone is so collaborative and inclusive. I have yet to encounter a brilliant jerk. We work on diverse projects with a diverse customer base which keeps work fresh and exciting. The company culture is awesome and provides many of the amenities you would expect from a modern tech company. The work/life balance is legit! Great job to have if you value flexibility and time off.

Cons

Change is hard. We have had to make changes to our business to remain relevant. Those necessary changes affected some talented people and that is never fun.

Seems like a good idea...?

Pros

Dog friendly. You'll get paid when not on a project (expect a lot of this).

Cons

Your past experience doesn't mean much, and you'll often get past up on an ideal project. Expect to get treated like a tool vs an actual person with talent.

Pros

When I first started at The Nerdery, I too read the reviews about nepotism, boys club and poor management. Would it be a lie to say that I did notice those things when I first started? Yes. However, I can attest to the fact that this company takes feedback from their employees better than any company I've ever been a part of. There are now many women in leadership roles, and management is starting to address performance issues and get better at being actual leaders. The culture here is something special, and you won't find it anywhere else. People are so willing to help, even if they aren't in your department. It's incredibly collaborative, and it's a heck of a lot of fun.

Cons

There could be a bit more training opportunities.
