Pros

- 401k matching at 5% is generous verse other companies - Hourly pay is competitive verse many companies in the industry - Paid caregiver leave for 18 weeks is amazing and was a blessing for me for an emergency foster care situation. Most companies do not offer this. - Quarterly bonuses - PTO was over 3 weeks for me - Quarterly credits on our accounts to purchase any Nespresso product or coffee with - One free machine a year - Perks at work employee discount program (I got a discount on HP and purchased a doordash gift card with the wowpoints I earned from the purchase) - Lifestyle Spending Account ($500 a year for full timers to spend on a plethora of items) - Real Recognition program (earn points to purchase merchandise with. I got a Ninja Smart grill) - Lots of focus on health and safety practices which ignited a personally new found passion for the world that is “Q-SHE” - Tailoring/dry cleaning services provided - Continuous coffee training - Their coffee (of course) I love that the company is small enough to the point of getting to meet and speak with peers from other stores even as far as the other coast. I got to meet many managers from other locations and the shared experience has always been valuable to me.

Cons

POS systems. Glitches on Sundays during peak hours leading us to need to use a backup system that is half functional (can not use promo codes or perform returns/exchanges). Slow internet. At times there are multiple customer accounts because they can not be deleted or merged, leading to confusion and a prolonged checkout process. To say the system is outdated is an understatement. Uniforms. They are made of unflattering and uncomfortably cheap material. I ended up needing to buy my own pants because the material did not agree well with my body. On the positive side, the shirts and jackets aren’t half bad. Some of my team was unable to get uniforms for about a year. No room for progression unless willing to relocate or live in the Greater New York City area (for corporate). Openings are few and far for management. Store closures.

Dear Former Boutique Manager, I appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with Nespresso in such great detail. Let me start by saying that the decision to close some stores was one we took very seriously. We value the contribution each employee makes to the overall culture at Nespresso and made a large effort to retain impacted employees in any way we could. Nespresso evaluates shopping trends regularly to determine how we can deliver superior customer service and a high-quality coffee experience. Following our latest evaluation, we decided to close nine Nespresso Boutiques. This decision was part of our long-term business strategy and reflects evolving consumer trends, which are not unique to Nespresso. We are proud to offer our employees competitive compensation and a benefits package like you outlined. In terms of your constructive feedback, to your point on our systems, including the retail POS, I’m happy to share that we recently launched a global digital transformation initiative to address the technology infrastructure as you suggested. I am confident with laser focus in this area, we will make great strides improving the experience for our employees and our customers. As you mention, like with many other goods over the last two years affected by the pandemic, the supply chain we depend on for our uniforms has been disrupted. In terms of work arounds due to the shortages we have experienced, managers were advised to provide uniforms from alternate local vendors using their corporate cards to purchase. Our team has worked hard to reconfigure the ordering process in 2023, so I am confident this issue will be resolved. At Nespresso, we strive to develop and promote our talent from within and are proud to offer employees career advancement and mobility – either at our U.S. Corporate Headquarters in NYC or throughout the Nestlé USA organization. Yes – this sometimes can include the option of relocation. Should the right opportunity arise, and you are interested in applying for the role, we would be happy to welcome you back to Nespresso . All the best, Alfonso Gonzalez CEO, Nespresso North America

Dear Current Boutique Specialist, I am so glad to read you found a “great team” and “fun working environment” at Nespresso. I firmly believe our people are what make us great. We take pride in our Total Rewards package, including compensation and benefits which is reviewed regularly and benchmarked with industry standards.
