Pros

Team I immediately worked with! 401K and Pension

Cons

Pay was decent but not for workload for certain departments. Internal HR department literally the weakest I have ever seen. Don’t know their own policies/procedures consistently needing assistance from BIG Nestle on what should of been basic interaction. Internal/external messaging conflicting want to be a large aluminum capsules recycling partner, but then sell 10+million capsules monthly to large e-commerce companies with no control on what happens to them. Insane hours especially for Supply Chain Department and 3PLs. Highest stress positions while working for this company multiple Directors call you all nights/weekends without respect for family time. 3 people had to go out on stress leave from the work life balance issues. Now CNN is saying Nespresso is using child labor to pick their coffee beans overseas it doesn’t surprise me one bit!!

Nespresso Response

Hello Supply Chain Analyst, Your positive recognition of your Supply Chain team is encouraging, as our business continues to grow, our Supply Chain team has also experienced significant growth and evolution as a result. Nespresso is a part of Nestlé, we are proud to offer a competitive benefits program which are available to Nespresso employees as Nestlé benefits. Our Nespresso HR Team works closely with Nestlé on HR policies, procedures and benefits, this partnership makes us stronger as our employees have access to all Nestlé has to offer. We are constantly innovating to make recycling easier for Nespresso customers and to contribute new solutions to all recycling challenges, last year we made a $1.2 million commitment to fund new technology at Sims Municipal Recycling that helps improve New Yorkers' ability to recycle aluminum coffee capsules and other items through NYC’s city curbside program. Nespresso’s existing dedicated recycling program in the US, in partnership with UPS, continues to be made available across the country. Consumers can bring recycling bags with used coffee capsules to one of 88,000 UPS drop-off locations, or to one of 500 collection points in Nespresso Boutiques and select retailers around the country. Once capsules are collected via the recycling bag program, they are sent to recovery businesses who separate the aluminum from the coffee grounds to give them a second life. The aluminum is processed and, ultimately, reused to create new products. The coffee grounds are turned into nutrient-rich compost and topsoil. Please know that we are incredibly concerned by what we saw in the Dispatches documentary. Child labor is completely unacceptable and has no place in our supply chain. While we have taken immediate action to investigate the issue, our global CEO has committed to getting to the bottom of this case. Our values as a company require us to protect children from exploitation and ensure they attend school; we will continue to work with partners on the ground to make sure this happens. You can read more about the latest updates on our investigation and actions we are taking to address this issue via this link: https://www.nestle-nespresso.com/newsandfeatures/Upcoming-TV-Show-Dispatches-on-Channel-4-UK. I’d like to discuss with you further, please reach out to me directly so we can work together. All the best, Alfonso Gonzalez CEO, Nespresso USA

Pros

You get two free machines every year of employment! Awesome discounts on coffee sleeves and accessories. You gain so much knowledge on coffee! If you love coffee, you will enjoy talking about it.

Cons

Poor management, at least at the San Francisco Boutique Bar! The management team is really unfair among the employees. They don’t appreciate you enough. They’re too focused on the sales numbers and always off the floor when managers are needed. Communication among team is so poorly organized. Everyone works at least 4-5 days a week. I’m a full time college student doing part time 20 here at Nespresso and I feel like I have no time for myself! If I’m not at school I’m at work. They’re so strict about scheduling! They’re so difficult when you try to ask for a specific days off. Majority of the time they deny it.
