Pros

- Smart people, Teams focused on getting things done. - Free Breakfast, Beer Bash on Fridays and Mid-week Free lunches.

Cons

- Processes have crept in a little too much lately and acts as an impediment to being productive as an engineer. - Interviewing bars are not the same compared to say a couple of years ago across different teams. - Promotions and performance based incentives are clearly lacking.

Pros

I worked for NetApp for 3 years. I came to NetApp as part of an acquisition. I was a contractor for 18 months (which is the longest you can contract there in one position) and I was finally converted.

Cons

Being part of an acquisition didn't lend to the most positive work environment. Our business unit always felt as though we were the red-head step child. Everyone talked about how wonderful the company culture was, but I am not sure I experienced it the same way. Not to say that things were bad, but it wasn't the most amazing work environment.

Pros

Great people and my personal experience with my management has been very positive. Work hard but work life balance is encouraged and family is important. I've always felt that NetApp leadership tries very hard to "do the right thing" and that at the core foundation, NetApp is a very moral company.

Cons

Traditional tech industry and companies are facing major headwinds. Growth is minimal. Stock price hasn't moved in years and the company has had several large corporate layoffs. Once hired, Internal raises and compensation is limited.
