Pros

Nice work-life balance. Atmosphere that is simultaneously laid-back yet stimulating and hard-working. Friendly, intelligent, and approachable senior engineers - a rare trifecta! Culture that used to be amazing, now still OK but a shadow of its former self. Corporate sponsored beer-bashes. Solid perks/benefits, especially 401k match and onsite training courses.

Cons

Company has slowly been going downhill; Salary hasn't kept up with industry standard, layoffs have been an annual occurrence, and growth opportunities are becoming even more limited within the company. Instability - both in upper management and in the company's products themselves - has become a serious issue. Both these have combined to dramatically lessen employee morale.

Top Notch Health and Investment Benefits, Exceptional Onsite Facilities including cafeteria and full gymnasium, People and Culture, A willingness to always do what's right for the customer, camaraderie among co-workers and

Cons

NetApp is still stuck in the 90's with their business model. They are hesitant to invest in back-end technology to take their customer service to the bleeding edge in leadership. Moving up the corporate ladder within NetApp is extremely difficult. There are few opportunities for advancement and the ones that are available you must interview 4 or 5 rounds for in front of 10 to 20 people. With the latest R.I.F. they did not compensate their highly tenured employees with a justifiable severance package.

Pros

* Customer centric culture (in a good chunk of the company -- the ones who were with the company for some time). * Company at that time had the desire to be disruptive in areas dealing with incumbency (technology, software) * Reseller partners loved them because of the money they could make

Cons

* There was a lot of hiring, which didn't always match with the customer-centric culture (this can be tough for a company that scales beyond a certain point) * Not always known for speed of innovation or efficiency of execution
