      It's all ups and down

      Pros

      Work/Life balance is good. They have strong storage market presence which is good.

      Cons

      It's not typical software tech company in bay area. It's a typical hardware company environment where you feel company is too choosy (miser) in bringing up the in office environment. You need to pay for everything - even they stopped giving RSUs. If you are on non-immigrant visa, they don't pay for your expedite processing fees.

      A little too proud of how they think they treat their employees

      Pros

      NetApp had a good cash flow, allowing them a nice campus with a phenomenal gym. The pay was above Silicon Valley average based on what I saw.

      Cons

      They seemed to have taken their corporate culture from former Sun employees. They grew too quickly and then, realizing their mistake, laid off 10% of the company in 2013, and more the year after. The engineering bureaucracy had become so convoluted that it was difficult to get anything done on a macro scale in a short amount of time. Everything had a committee, forcing small groups to ignore the rules and regulations to just get things done.

      Work with smart passionate people. Company is committed to customer success. Opportunities to work on on your own ideas, with support of management.

      Cons

      Benefits lag comparable companies in the industry. Not much transparency into what the overall strategy is from upper level management. Management needs to take more risks and diversify the company through investments, M&A
