Pros

This is is the best place to start your carrier - named as a leader in OSS/BSS Gartner magic quadrant. You don't have to be a fluent in English to be sent to business trips abroad. You will learn a lot about telecom world not to mention OSS/BSS technologies.

Cons

1. Salary.Salary.Salary...If you are working somewhere in middle Russia - you wouldn't get much regardless how hard you are trying. NC is intended to have cheap projects with high software quality. As a result the pace for the project is sometimes just insane. So project will squeeze you like a lemon but won't give you an additional penny from the company :-) Cost reduction is everywhere. - Salary review is handled only by your negotiation skill. And it strictly depends on the linear manager. The persons on the same position may have absolutely different salaries - If you are on the BA position - forget about being promoted :-) Theoretically, it can achieved, but after some time...let's say 5 years :-) Unlike BAs - for QA and dev it is pretty easy...couple years - and you (of course, if you are ready hit the ground running) QA Lead or technical manager :-) - All of the projects - they are just a mess. There are a lot of managers everywhere who work only in NC for entire carrier. So they sometimes don't know technology and industry standards let alone cannot manage people at all. Most of the time you will be working on your own with wage due dates as time management is not about management in NC :) But when project will be rapidly approaching to the Go Live date - you'll suddenly will be blamed for any project sin :-) So you have to be aware of that and work independently as well as by proactive and think that you might be blamed as non-efficient person :)

No Technical Work

Pros

Money. I will recommend this company to my friends, those who wants money by sitting ideal. I should write about my manager here, really he is such a good person. In my previous companies i used beg for leaves, but here ( only with my manager) it never happen.

Cons

I am in application support team, there is no work ( hardly we may have 1 hour work in 24 hours, that to no technical work). Even if we get any error, we need to just escalate it. In few of the other projects my teammates are just doing copy paste job(Every day they get one excel sheet, here they have 1K to 3K lines, they have to copy each line and paste in GUI and click sum buttons( my friend used to get zandu balm in initial days, now he got used to it ). About KT point of view, those who are from long time here they won't give proper KT and they expect the results as good as them ( even sometimes better than them). If you write some scripts, they try to find out mistakes in that. I heard from my teammate, she has been working here from last 10+ years, she said that, we have to scare new joiners . So that new joiners can't go to them from any doubts. About support projects, most of them are whole sale customer projects only, so learning scope is very less. I think only 4-6 projects are IRB projects. Future projects are toms only, where we need to practice more about copy , paste and click some buttons. Even the same thing in development projects also. When i joined to this company, 4 more also joined on same day. In those 4, 2 already left this company( with in 4 months). I am also leaving, as of now i am in notice period. Those who were left are java developers, but they never did any changes are written java code in 3 to 4 months, they just wrote some sql queries and tested the result.
