Pros

Decent salary 75% Season ticket discount

Cons

Management change their minds and decisions all the time. Made to feel very replaceable. Some Senior Managers totaly ignore you, as if you don't exist. Politics. Negative culture. Favouritism. Deeply inefficient and frustrating. Limited ability to change roles as for a lot of internal vacancies they seem to already have someone in mind for it.

Pros

Money is fairly good, though not brilliant

Cons

Made to feel that I was very unimportant, and that I had to perform or go. Some Managers act is if they are doing you a favour by speaking to you. E Mails and phone calls to some Managers go un-answered as they will only speak or correspond with other Managers, not Supervisors. Floors full of old Men working in silence. Some Senior Managers totaly ignore you, as if you don't exist. I made a point of saying "good morning" to a project Director as He passed my desk every morning. He never once replied.

Working For Network Rail

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Some of the best training and training related oportunities I have had in my working life. Great potential for progression Good salary and benefits Regular 1:1 feedback and development plans.

Cons

High performance expectations Some senior management (Band 2) should look at their own performance before their staff. Overtime is unpaid as the position is salaried, when working for a contractor such as Amey, or Babcock you would be paid.
