Good opportunities to move through a large organisation. Excellent benefits and flexible working approach. Strong line management structure and excellent training opportunities.

Cons

Some challenging unionised sections. More commercial focus required. Reclassified into a public sector body, changing working practises and strategic approach.

Pros

Fascinating industry to work in with unique challenges and insight. Some truly dedicated people to work alongside are out there.

Cons

Many strategic decisions are made with poor buy-in from the Business, usually for a short term solution at the expense of the long term success. This 'get this done now, worry about the rest later' seems to infiltrate every function in the business I came across. A lot of people more than happy to ride out the years for their pension, not really adding anything. Transparent pay scheme has killed the ability to hire the mid-level employees required to make this Company work, especially in London.
