Pros

Coworkers are among the nicest and most brilliant people I've ever worked with. Lots of momentum, exciting product, nice office facilities. Executives and VPs are personable and actually greet employees in the hallway. Lots of praise and success stories shared, which is nice. As a company we have a good sense of humor.

Cons

Work life balance is becoming a bigger and bigger problem. Working on nights and weekends is all too common. Very little attention (if at all) paid to continuing education, career growth, and goals. Vacation policy, compensation, raises etc. are very much lacking, especially considering we're referred to as a workplace leader. Interdepartmental/office communication needs a lot of work, although there are improvements being made Favoritism and hierarchy biases among teams and departments More attention being paid to growth than current employees leading to burnout and a diminishing of the New Relic "spirit"

Pros

Some of the best and brightest people work here. Very high caliber engineers and programmers. Good benefits and the work is cutting-edge. A lot of out-of-the-box thinking and solutions. You will learn a lot working here.

Cons

There has been a significant amount of changes in management, even before the company went private, and this trend is expected to continue, which is normal for any organization. However, New Relic is still grappling with appropriate priority setting and attempts too many initiatives simultaneously, which makes it incredibly challenging to complete anything. Additionally, if anyone is even slightly critical or speaks up, it puts a target on them, and they are considered a threat. The VPs and directors micromanage their employees and are not adept at managing people, which is leading to the departure of good talent. Expect layoffs every year and sometimes twice a year.

Pros

before fall 2022 it was the best company I'd ever worked for. Really good people trying to work together to do great things.

Cons

in late 2022 new leadership started poisoning the company. by spring 2023 reorganizations occurred that gave more power to toxic people who have zero ability to actually plan an achievable strategy. healthy culture was thrown out while execs chased unachievable priorities with no clarity on execution or data to support their plans. then layoffs in June 2023. rinse and repeat, more layoffs in April 2024. now they're laying off again so they can offshore jobs to india. there isn't a single executive at the company that isn't a backstabbing snake.
