The Egg looks good on the outside, but crack it open and you’ll find it’s rotten!
Pros
Newegg has a good reputation outside of the workforce. Working for the second largest e-commerce only company (right under Amazon) is pretty nice on your resume.
Cons
The cons supersede the plusses. Upper management is atrocious. Most have little to care for the people below them. Most simply care about looking good and getting promoted to reach another notch on their belt buckle. Salary is far below average. I have been working for Newegg for over its lifespan (began in 2001) and I have received 2 increases. The sad part is that the increase does not take into consideration the cost of living (which is typically 3%). I was in a conference room once and noticed on the white board that there was a list of all the different levels of upper management employment salary ranges, which started at the director level. They all made over 100K or more a year while people below make a crumble in comparison. Throughout my tenure, I have seen several people come and go. In particularly, our HR department has gone so south. So many people quit, were let go, or “force” to leave. Force refers to encouraging employees to leave because it is “best” decision they can make – in other words, they are no longer welcomed any more.
