Pros

Fairly young company with opportunities for advancement, desire to innovate to stay ahead of the curve, large network of suppliers.

Cons

Unfortunately top management does not take a risk on young talent and operates on what has worked in the past. They relay on reverse engineering to stay parallel against competitors. Also, it is hard to contact or get answers from top management.

Pros

Newegg has a great benefits system, allows time off (at least in my experience, others may disagree) and the work environment is among the best I've encountered. The company gives tremendous opportunity for growth through internal hiring and very general job descriptions.

Cons

Oh where to begin.... I would imagine the worst of it is the top management, and by extension middle and lower management. They are just completely unqualified. The only voice they are capable of hearing is their own when it comes to business decisions. If you arent Chinese, your suggestions will be politely listened to, then they will go with the suggestion fielded by someone with a far shorter name than you. The company could use some professionalism in dealing with its employees, such as complete honesty. What I mean by that is this company is very political, and expect most decisions to have a political motive. Its not uncommon for a gang of do-nothings to pile on complaints on someone trying to get the job done in order to get them let go. This will happen with no warning or reason given. Performance goals, especially sales goals, are a constant moving target and anyone with any experience in purchasing will run screaming because they know they cannot make any real money. I've never before seen such a disconnect from management and the employees. The company has been experiencing rapid turnover lately due to founding management returning and mixing things up. Pay is low, which combined with the internal promotion makes the company a stepping stone for young professionals, but unless you are the old school bosses, you arent going to stick around long.
