Pros

Pay is competitive for Entry Level positions Decent benefits package Coworkers are some of the most skilled and wonderful artists you can work with as peers

Cons

Management attempted to lead an animation studio with zero animation (or art experience) at all. Fired 23 artists in a single day seeing management complaints from staff Terrible communication from management. Constant complaining about lack of budget yet continuing to spend money on superfluous purchases. Constant short staffing. Fired staff members with no intention of replacing them. At least once a month. Refused to listen to staff complaints and suggestions yet kept blaming pipeline issues on staff for “not coming forward with ideas” Overworked staff with deadlines that could only be met through weekly crunch. Expected work after hour and on weekends on short notice without prior warning. Complained about staff when they were not available to work extra hours on short notice. Actively discourage staff from talking about labor actions and pay - some staff members were paid different, lower amounts for doing the same job as others. CEO is inexperienced, has never worked in animation or in a studio environment, and has a history of harming the company’s reputation through his online activity and comments. Management makes rash decisions without warning, does not know how to manage a healthy animation production pipeline, does not know to to provide proper feedback and critique, and have no professional art skill or language to articulate opinions from. Refuses to learn from staff members trying to help. Minority and female staff felt targeted and sidelined by senior management in multiple occasions. Management constantly failed to address individual staff personably, causing plenty of uncomfortable situations.

Pros

Full time animation work, benefits, PTO, unpaid holidays, decent pay (if you were getting the same as everyone else)

Cons

-Animation department run by people who don't understand the animation pipeline -Strict 1 week deadlines for 8+ minute Youtube videos (from storyboards to final animation, 1 week total) -Grind culture -Unpaid holidays. Company would "guarantee" time off for the holidays but would then turn around and say "IF you want the time off, you have to do this, this, this, etc". Also promised no weekend work leading up to holidays and then required it as holidays came closer -Work conducted over Discord. Didn't require work Discord account so employees used their personal ones. A supervisor looked through PRIVATE discord chats and fired 90% of the animation department based on trivial things people had said, and things that people wanted to change about the company so it was a better place to work -Hired and promoted people to "team lead" position, but gave them no managerial training. Supervisors also constantly undermined team lead decisions. What's the point of a "team lead" if they can't lead a team to your liking? -Company claims to be receptive to feedback, but then fires people for talking about how to bring up their issues with management in a constructive way
